Dr. Dorien Zandbergen

Dorien Zandbergen is an anthropologist of digital culture, interested in the history, culture and politics of digital society. She wants to contribute to a digital society that is fair, transparent, socially just and inclusive. Previously she has been a researcher at Leiden University, recipient of a Fulbright scholarship, Research Fellow at Waag Society and organizer of the Last Resort brainstorm meetings. For her PhD research she lived in San Francisco to study the the ideological and technical roots of the Californian Information Society.

 

 

 

Dr. Merel Noorman

Merel Noorman is philosopher of technology with a background in artificial intelligence and sociological and science and technology studies. She obtained her PhD degree at Maastricht University. She has worked as an advisor for the Dutch Council for Social Development and has done research in the US and the Netherlands on the ethical and social aspects of complex and intelligent computer systems.

 

 

 

Prof. Dr. Tsjalling Swierstra

Prof Dr. Tsjalling Swierstra is chair of the Department of Philosophy at Maastricht University, and initiating co-founder of the Journal for Responsible Innovation. With a background in philosophy and political science, his particular interests regard the ethical assessment of new and emerging sciences and technologies that as yet largely exist in the form of expectations, promises, and fears. For Swierstra, ethical reflection is an intrinsic dimension of the innovation process itself, and includes anticipation of consequences and stakeholder involvement in agenda setting.

 

 

Prof. Dr. Justus Uitermark

Justus Uitermark is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam and Professor by special appointment of Community Development at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research themes are self-organization, urban policy, social movements and networks.
